Bound: Sonia Navarro, Soojin Choi, Maliha Abidi

6 October - 4 November 2026

Secteur Privé is pleased to present Bound, a group exhibition bringing together Sonia Navarro, Soojin Choi and Maliha Abidi from 6 October to 4 November 2026.

Working across textile, ceramic, painting and installation, the exhibition considers the physical and emotional forces that connect us: inherited traditions, intimate rituals, faith, labour, care and collective memory. Though their practices emerge from distinct cultural contexts, Navarro, Choi and Abidi each make connection visible through material and form. Threads are woven into monumental textiles; ceramic bodies fold into precarious embraces; strands of hair become braided emblems of sisterhood, identity and intergenerational care.

For Navarro, weaving carries the histories of domestic labour and women’s knowledge. Choi’s entwined figures consider the fragile negotiations of human attachment, where support and dependence coexist. Abidi draws upon the ritual of braiding hair to explore faith, migration, memory and the enduring bonds between women.

Select design works by Mark Brazier-Jones complement the exhibition, including his celebrated String Theory chandelier, whose interlocking links and crystalline forms echo Bound’s central concern with the structures—both delicate and resilient—that hold us together.
